Our Current Projects.

People wonder...

All Anglican Missions’ projects must satisfy at least one of the Marks of Mission – Tell, Teach, Tend, Transform, Treasure. We also choose projects that fit within one of our four core programmes.
Development projects focus on the "Transform" and "Treasure" Marks of Mission, seeking to improve community livelihood and wellbeing. They typically involve infrastructure construction or public education campaigns to support resilient communities. Humanitarian Aid projects are focused around the "Tend" Mark of Mission, and seek to alleviate immediate need. These projects typically begin after an emergency occurs, such as natural disasters and conflicts. They address the immediate needs of food, water, and shelter. You can learn more about our humanitarian aid projects under our "Emergencies" tab. Most of Anglican Missions' work centers around these three Marks of Mission. However, we also work alongside various partners, such as CMS and Mission to Seafarers, to support Missions projects. These projects tend to focus more on the first two Marks of Mission: "Tell", and "Teach."
These are the United Nation’s Global Goals to make the world a more peaceful and prosperous place. Check out the 17 development goals here.

We aim to report on all of our projects upon completion or at 6-month intervals. Project milestone updates will be made either in the news section or on our social media. For a general update on all our projects please review our annual report. You can also contact us to receive more detailed financial reporting.
Anglican Missions only uses 10% of donated funds for internal operation costs. This money enables us to keep the lights on, pay our staff, and travel to project locations to perform needs assessments and reporting.

How do we do "projects"?

Our projects are scoped in lots of different ways, and they arrive at Anglican Missions through many different avenues.

Many of our projects come through our Anglican church networks – Parishes, Mission Partners (through NZCMS), or international connections and their associated needs (clergy, friends, associates etc). The Anglican Church is a worldwide movement and so we do out best to stay connected to the needs of the church, both in our Province and internationally.

Projects are scoped and measured against the Five Marks of Mission, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Te Ara Hou (our strategic plan) and the needs and requirements of our partners. Goals are matched to financial or material outcomes (ie. $x. of funds raised or y numbers of supplies delivered).
