RELEASING LIFE-SAVING AID WHEN EVERY MOMENT COUNTS.

When disaster strikes, local Anglican churches are often among the first to respond. They are already part of the affected community, know where the most urgent needs are and can act immediately. Our Emergency Fund enables us to stand alongside these local partners by releasing funds quickly, helping them meet immediate needs and save lives.

Unlike our projects and appeals, which require dedicated fundraising, the Emergency Fund is ready and available before disaster occurs. When a church partner asks for urgent assistance, we can send money directly without waiting to establish and promote a public appeal. This reduces delays and places resources in the hands of those already responding on the ground.

Our initial Emergency Fund grants are often around $5,000, enabling local partners to begin their response immediately. These funds provide vital early support to protect lives, assist affected families and address urgent needs while the situation develops and further assistance is considered.

Donate to the Emergency Fund today and help us respond immediately when our partners and their communities need us most.

Disasters Supported through our Emergency Fund

Donations to the Emergency Fund.

Our emergency fund delivers high-impact assistance in urgent situations. In the immediate aftermath of a disaster, churches will be involved in conducting rapid needs assessments, mobilising volunteers, and opening up resource hubs. This is why immediate assistance is so vital for equipping local churches to deliver aid during the key response period.

The amount of immediate financial assistance we can offer local Anglican communities depends on the size of our Emergency Fund. Your donation to the fund can go a long way toward helping affected communities within the most critical timeframe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Any donation is valuable in an emergency. Donations of just $20 can support the purchase of dozens of water purification tablets for families in areas with no safe water. Donations of $50-100 can support short-term family food packages, or enable local churches to buy supplies in bulk. No matter the size of the donation, your support will go toward all kinds of humanitarian aid, including:
- Food packages
- Water or safe water purification methods
- Shelters and evacuation hubs
- Psychosocial support
- Vaccinations
- Sanitation and Hygiene supplies
When we support an initiative, we ensure that they follow the four humanitarian principles and humanitarian best practice.

Humanity means that a response must address human suffering wherever it is found. Humanity is the foundation of restoring human dignity and basic human rights.

Neutrality says that humanitarian organisations must not take sides in hostilities, nor engage in any politocal, racial, religious, or ideological controversies.

Impartiality is the idea that humanitarian response should be based solely on the needs of an individual, prioritising objective need without discrimination. It does not prioritise groups based on affiliation to any social category.

The final principle is independence, meaning that a humanitarian action must remain autonomous from the political, economic, military, or other objectives that any actor may hold.
Anglican Missions only uses 10% of donated funds for internal operation costs. This money enables us to keep the lights on, pay our staff, and travel to project locations to perform needs assessments and reporting.
