We might, on occasion, be quick to describe our health system in New Zealand as broken. We complain about waiting times, delayed procedures, and overstretched staff, sometimes even calling them “third world”.
Then you walk into a place like Kilimatinde Hospital in central Tanzania. I’m here with Anglican Missions, visiting the church’s work in the community.
This hospital serves a population of around 200,000 people. It is meant to have 12 doctors. It currently has one.
