Ebola Awareness Training
As part of the Ebola response by the Anglican Church of Congo in the Diocese of North Kivu, an awareness session was organized in Butembo for pastors, primary and secondary school principals, and healthcare workers.
The training activity was organised in collaboration with the response team and aimed to strengthen the participants’ knowledge of Ebola prevention and control measures.
Discussions focused on promoting and adhering to preventative measures, as well as the importance of dignified and safe burials, considered essential in preventing the transmission of the virus.

Through this initiative, the Anglican Diocese of North Kivu intends to contribute to breaking the chain of virus transmission within communities, while also strengthening awareness and combating misinformation.
At the end of the session, participants felt better equipped to share prevention messages with their respective communities. They were also encouraged to actively participate in combating misinformation as the epidemic continues to affect families and communities.
This activity is part of the joint efforts of the Church and response teams to strengthen prevention and community mobilization in the face of the Ebola virus disease.
