Water Security & Christian Care Centre – Solomon Islands
Fetching water in the Solomon Islands can be a gruelling and sometimes dangerous activity for the women and children responsible. Add in the devastating impacts of climate change and frequent disputes over water resources into the equation, and the risk to household welfare can be significant.
Our project will improve water security by installing three water tanks. Not only will this make it safer and easier for women and children to fetch water, but will ensure a more sustainable water supply to households.
Any additional funds raised will support the Christian Care Centre in Honiara, a facility operated by the Anglican Church of Melanesia to provide a safe haven for victims of domestic violence and other forms of abuse
