Confined living conditions, long hours of physical work, and limited ministry opportunities – life as a seafarer is not for the faint of heart. Mission to Seafarers provides support and advocacy to seafarers across the globe. Before its destruction by 2016 earthquake, the Mission to Seafarers Centre in Wellington provided a safe space for over 9000 seafarers who called the port each year.

With our support, Mission to Seafarers will rebuild their facility so that they can once again provide a peaceful place for seafarers to contact home, access confidential advocacy, and receive ministry. Situated at Wellington port, the Seafarers Centre will be comprised of a retrofitted shipping container sporting the Anglican Missions logo, and will once again be a place of refuge for nearly 9000 seafarers.
