The Church in Tanzania is experiencing rapid growth and is working hard to train clergy, build churches, and to provide ministry to the expanding congregation.
This project enables the Archbishop to participate in pastoral visits to the five dioceses where they will promote unity, development and education to ensure a more effective and sustained Anglican communion.
The project will cover the cost for the Archbishop to visit the Diocese of Victoria Nyanza, Zanzibar, Ruaha, Lake Rukwa, Western Tanganyika to:
- Promote the message of hope, unity and reconciliation
- Strengthen pastoral ministry
- Elect new Bishops and consecrations
- Facilitate interfaith and government dialogue to advance peace and justice
We expect that anywhere from 600,000 to 1,000,000 will be impacted through the project. Whether directly through pastoral care, or indirectly through the fruits of developing the youth, mother’s union and Christian education sectors.
The Archbishop has fittingly adopted the “Road to Emmaus” story as a metaphor for the journey that lays ahead for the Anglican Church of Tanzania.
