This is a result of climate change and global warming. Whilst we cannot predict when the next natural disaster will occur, we can ensure Pacific Island communities are well prepared. The importance of preparedness and resource supply was highlighted in the recent 2022 Tonga volcanic eruption and tsunami, as external resources and aid was not accessible for a number of days.

This project will replenish and update the four prepositioned supply stations in Tonga and improve the management, operation and maintenance.
